The Cobh ASD Parent2Parent group is made up of parents of children with Autism who meet one evening per month at Cobh Family Resource Centre. The group includes parents who are all at various stages along the road since their child’s diagnosis and so have a wealth or experience and knowledge which they are always happy to share.
Sometimes meetings are just a chance to have a chat, offer each other support, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. We regularly also have guest speakers such as play therapists, behavioural experts and nutritional specialists to talk about their work and various therapies and approaches which might benefit your child and family.
Local school principals have also met the parents to talk about the big move from primary to secondary level and inform them about what resources and supports their school can offer a child on the spectrum.
Keep an eye on our website here and the group’s facebook page for news about upcoming meetings. Please contact Stephanie for more information about the group. She would be happy to answer any questions you have.
All parents, guardians and family members are welcome. We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting.
